The plot follows Manny the mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano) and Ellie as they prepare for the birth of their first child, Peaches. Meanwhile, Diego the saber-toothed tiger feels he is losing his "wild" edge, and Sid the sloth—in typical Sid fashion—decides to steal three dinosaur eggs to become a mother. When the mother T. rex (named Momma) returns and takes Sid to the Lost World, the herd must venture into a bizarre Cretaceous cavern to rescue him.
