Visually, the film is a feast. The character designs are stylized and expressive (typical of DreamWorks’ 2D era), but the real standout is the integration of 2D characters with 3D environments. The action sequences are kinetic and fluid, offering a sense of scale that rivals many modern animated films.
The story reimagines the Middle Eastern legend with a heavy dose of Greek mythology. It follows (voiced by Brad Pitt), a roguish pirate framed by the goddess of discord, Eris (Michelle Pfeiffer), for the theft of the sacred Book of Peace.
