He was trained as a gladiator in the Ludus of Capua, where he became known for his exceptional fighting skills and leadership abilities. In 73 BCE, Spartacus led a rebellion against his Roman captors, escaping from the ludus and gathering a large army of fellow slaves and gladiators.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand demonstrated that premium cable could successfully produce high-fantasy, R-rated action series with serialized storytelling.
