Use the blink as your cutting point. If an actor delivers a powerful line, watch their eyes. Often, they will blink right after the impact lands. That blink is the period at the end of the sentence. If you cut before the blink, you truncate the emotion. If you cut too long after, you kill the pacing. Cut on the blink, and you are cutting on the rhythm of human thought.
