Typical. Multimeters use low frequency (100 Hz to 1 kHz), but X7R dielectric’s capacitance drops with rising temperature and DC bias. At 5V DC bias, a 50V X7R 1000 pF cap can lose up to 15% capacitance. Also, aging (2.5% per decade) means a 1-year-old cap may read 960 pF. This is normal. : Includes thermal shutdown
