For manual mod users, installing (by PeterHan) is a game-changer. It lets you reorder mod load priority, disable/enable mods without restarting, and view detailed errors. Install it manually like any other mod.

While the Steam Workshop makes modding a breeze, there are plenty of reasons to go the manual route. Maybe you’re using a version from the Epic Games Store, playing offline, or trying to use a specific legacy mod version that isn’t on the Workshop.

Open the extracted folder. You should see a file named mod_info.yaml and usually a mod.dll file.

Once you are in the Oxygen Not Included\mods folder, you will notice two subfolders. It is vital to understand the difference:
